thanksgiving
my thanksgiving could have been a lot better. i did get a lot of sleep in and a whole lot of relaxing and doing nothing, which is always great… except for the fact that coral dermatitis broke out in my hands thursday morning! basically, i went scuba diving in jamaica, grabbed onto some coral growing on a mooring rope while descending with the rope (brilliant idea, jamaica diving people - i’m never descending with the rope ever again!) and 10 days later it broke out as an allergic rxn in my hands - lots of swelling, itching, swelling… just like poison oak on my hands. COMPLETELY SUCKED. i had to miss both VT bball and fball games because of it. for four days my hands were completely useless, i couldn’t even pick up a pencil. they’re still not completely healed (i had to ask a coworker to help me pop off the top to a pen today), but obviously much better. here’s a gross picture of what it is (FYI: this is NOT my hand, i got this off of scuba-doc.com. mine wasn’t as bad as this, but it was still pretty bad):
