I have my own Spoon song
I admit this is a very bad thing, but I really couldn’t resist. Spoon’s sixth album “Ga Ga Ga Ga Ga” comes out in July, but as expected there are a bunch of leaked copies of it out on the internet. I got such a copy (please don’t hate me!), and I’ll spare you the excuses (I’m going to buy the album anyway, I go to all their shows, I’m a huge fan and big supporter, yada yada yada). I haven’t listened to it fully yet, and don’t plan on doing so until July (when I get the real album), but there’s one song that I want to draw attention to. You might remember me mentioning Britt Daniel playing a song with my name in it at his solo show back in November - turns out that song is called “Black Like Me” and is the last song on the new album. I haven’t listened closely enough to figure out exactly what the lyrics are, but “Ginny” is mentioned at least 3-4 times (”Ginny’s watching”… something something something…). If anything, this makes me more excited about the album release, because now I can’t wait to see what the lyrics really are!
On another note, I ended up watching The Office finale tonight. I have to say, that was a really good finale. Absolutely brilliant. I still can’t get over how awesome it was. Season 4, here we come…
