Charlottesville, Ultimate, yada yada

Here I am, back in Charlottesville! It’s been an extremely relaxing trip (for the most part) so far. I’ve basically been sleeping 10 hours every night! I don’t know how that’s holding up - I guess I was really sleep-deprived coming in. It’s been nice, though. I should be very well-rested by the time I get back to Austin (only in two days - eek).

I’ve figured out recently that wearing UVA gear is much cooler when you wear it in places that aren’t Charlottesville. While in Austin, I kept wishing I had more things to wear other than this orange half-sleeved shirt that’s seven years old. So yesterday, I spent $80 at the UVA bookstore on some awesome UVA gear. The most exciting thing was this really cool sweatshirt - it’s exciting because I’ve been wanting to get a UVA sweatshirt since eight years ago. Yeah, it took THAT long.

What’s in store for the rest of my stay here (besides a ton of sleeping)? Tonight is Mike’s annual Fireworks show/party - obviously there’ll be Mike’s awesome fireworks, plus a ton of four-square-playing and flaming-toilet-paper-kicking (I do not participate in the latter, though - don’t think I want burns and scars on my feet for life!). Apparently there’s going to be a slip-n-slide this year, too… sweet. Tomorrow my parents are back from the Bahamas, plus the weekly ultimate pickup game. Yes, I brought my cleats all the way from Austin just for that. Hopefully I’ll get to see some old ultimate peeps and show them how awesome I am now that I’ve played a ton in Austin (yeah right!).

Today is the Summer League tournament in Austin (that I’m sadly missing). I’ve received word, though, that my team has won our first two games. I wish them good luck and fortune, but obviously if they lose it’s because I wasn’t there. :)
