New Years Eve in Chicago?
Apparently, Chicago is the place where my favorite bands like to play shows on New Years Eve. Four years ago, my first visit to Chicago and my first New Years outing outside of Virginia was highlighted by Guster playing a NYE show at the House of Blues. It was excellent. Guster was on stage when midnight hit.
Anyway, I just found out that Spoon is playing in Chicago on NYE this year. My first thoughts were to the awesome times I had four years ago, which naturally led me to think… “I could go… again!” Spoon on New Years Eve would be totally, utterly, completely awesome. How can I not go?
Nevermind that it costs money, I need to find people to go with, and my travel plans are already crazy during the holidays. In all likelihood I probably won’t go, which is very, very sad. If I had unlimited time and money, though, I’d be all over it… ah, such is life.
Not ruling it out 100% yet though. You’ll never know.
