Early May wasn't early enough to beat tourist crowds in Venice, but it was still one of the highlight stops of the entire trip. The water was beautiful, water taxis were fun, and we got to visit almost all the islands. Plus yummy gelato and HUGE pizzas from Pizza al Volo.
