Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince film… eh.

Posted July 24th, 2009 in

I saw the latest movie installment Wednesday night. I wasn’t quite sure what to make of it at first, but now that I’ve had a handful of days to ponder over it, I’ve come to the conclusion that it was by far the most disappointing film yet. I would still recommend all Potter lovers to watch it (how can you not), because there are some good aspects about it (and the cinematography is awesome), but for most part, don’t get your hopes up and don’t have high expectations. I knew they were going to leave out a bunch of stuff…

Harry Potter craze, biking, climbing, and itchiness

The last few days have been - well, let’s just say, they could have been better. A horribly annoying rash broke up on my bum/groin, which prompted me to go to the doctor, get a cortisone shot, and get some Vanos - i.e. a $450 tube of steroid cream - prescribed. Thank goodness for my sweet insurance package with Pluck. The rash has mostly gotten better, at least in the area it started in, but I’ve found other spots popping up. Will this ever go away? I blame this on the bouldering and swimming trip we took to Rogers Park…

Harry Potter mania!

Posted May 18th, 2009 in

Last week I came across the trailer for the next Harry Potter movie, HP and the Half Blood Prince. I am excited! For some reason, I originally thought the movie was coming out in November-December. Finding out that it’s actually coming out in July? Sweet!

The movie looks great. HBP is one of my favorite books of the series, and I’m eager to see how they decided to portray the sixth book on screen. There’s so much plot and happenings packed into it, you know they had to leave out some stuff and change the story here and there. I’ve been…

And just like that… it’s over

I finished Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows yesterday afternoon while driving back to LA. It was very, very good. It made me cry. Before you deduce any information from that, don’t get mad at me if you haven’t finished it yet - I cry at everything happy and sad, so it just means it was really good. If you’ve finished it too, hit me up so we can discuss the book and share the sadness that there will be no more Harry Potter! If you haven’t finished it yet… hurry up! :)

FINALLY

Taking another break from Java training (finished a lab early, got time to kill)…
Just wanted to let y’all know that I’ve FINALLY started Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows! I’m through six chapters so far. I’m really, really excited! Those of you who’ve finished it already: please don’t ruin it for me.

Java training and Cali fun

Posted July 24th, 2007 in , ,

Dude, I’m totally blogging from Java training class. No, I’m not slacking… there’s just a bit of downtime. Really.

Last night was the Giants game at the AT&T Park, right on the San Francisco Bay. It was my first major league game! It’s too bad that Bonds didn’t homer and that I didn’t eat a hot dog, but it was still a pretty awesome experience nonetheless. The views of the water and just getting to see the park and the area around it were cool. We had planned on taking the CalTrain up to the city from San Jose, but my…
