I’m in California! Than and I got here Friday night. We flew into LAX, picked up our rental car (waited in line for a really long time - annoying!), drove up the 101, and ended up staying in Ventura that night.
Yesterday we drove through Santa Barbara and San Luis Obispo before getting on the 1 (aka the Pacific Coast Highway). I hadn’t made that drive before, and I after doing it I have to agree with everyone: it IS one of the most beautiful drives one could make. The coastline is absolutely gorgeous, and of course there’s Big Sur. We…
At least not right now. I’ve been Harry-Potter-crazed nonstop for the past week. I saw the Order of the Phoenix on Saturday at the Drafthouse, which was quite good, although it had a lot of changes from the book. That’s to be expected - at almost 900 pages, that book’s the longest one of the series. The movie still captured the feelings and direction of the series well though, at least in my opinion. And like all the reviews said, it is pretty dark, and they’re only going to get darker…
Of course, what’s really got me agitated is that Saturday…
So I’m watching the Late Show with Dave Letterman now. Probably the first time I’ve ever watched this show. I’m watching it because Spoon is the musical guest. But who knew that Emma Watson (a.k.a. Spoon’s gonna be on any time now… trying to guess what song they’ll play? Cherry Bomb? Underdog? Or maybe it’ll be a complete surprise (the email said they got some surprises in store…)
For the most part, I’m a pretty patient and laid-back person. I usually wait for stuff to happen. But there are a couple of things that are absolutely driving me nuts: Austin City Limits and Harry Potter.
When tickets went on sale for the 2007 Austin City Limits Festival a couple weeks back, I grabbed a couple at the earlybird price. At that point I had no idea who was going to play or what the lineup was going to be, and I didn’t care. I just knew I was going to go no matter what. A few days later, while…
finished the new 6th book of the harry potter series last night. yesterday i finished off half of the book alone. i read it way too fast, but it was just so good. now i’m sad because i want to read more.
to those who’ve finished (or are going to finish soon) reading it too - i’m dying to have dorky discussions about the whole story. so please bug me so we can talk about it :)
