Trips trips trips trips

Posted June 26th, 2007 in ,

To everyone in Charlottesville - I’m coming back! OK, not permanently. Just for a few days. July 3-9 to be exact. I just couldn’t miss out on Mike’s fireworks. Anyway, I’m really looking forward to seeing and catching up with everyone. I’m going to try to make it up to NOVA for a day too. Let me know if you’re going to be around - comment, call, email, whatever you need to do. :)

Speaking of going somewhere, today I spent a good portion of my work day finalizing the details of my Java training. I’ll be heading to Los Angeles,…

Austin is awesome

Sorry again for the delay. I’ve been pretty busy here in Austin!

Yes, Than and I did make it to Austin. It was a long drive getting here, but we made stops in Nashville and Waxahachie on the way from Bloomington. We’ve been here for about a week and a half, and it doesn’t look like we’ll be leaving! We’ve been having a blast. We’ve hit up the Broken Spoke (yeee haw!) and Barton Springs (coooold water!), and we’ve walked all around the UT campus. We’ve basically been exploring all around the different areas. There are some pretty cool parks around and…

It’s really hot in the midwest…

Hey all. Sorry for the long delay. I’ve been a little busy/occupied with things like traveling and job applications. It’s super fun! In any case, right now we’re in Bloomington, Indiana, although last weekend we went to Iowa for a friend’s birthday/going away/ice-cream-making bash on a farm. It was my first time crossing the Mississippi in a car. Pretty exciting, eh? Now we’re just hanging out with Ann and Mike, playing disc golf, walking around IU, etc. We’ve been here for a week and will probably be here another couple of days.

Next we’re off to Nashville/Memphis/Mammoth Cave/Hot Springs (some or…

Home, Sweet Home

Posted June 2nd, 2006 in

HELLO CHARLOTTESVILLE! You don’t know how weird/great it feels to be back in the US and back at home. On one side, it doesn’t feel like I was gone for two whole months, but on another things that took place right before I left and in the beginning of the trip feels like ages ago. Let me tell you though, I really missed warm weather. There’s just something about breathing in the warm, thick, humid air. And the thunderstorms! Taking a walk this morning was so awesome. I was in a tank top and shorts! Funny how just yesterday I…

Just a few more days left…

Sorry that it’s been a little while. I suppose internet hasn’t been the top priority as of late. Plus, crazy French keyboards with letters and numbers in different places don’t help either. In a nutshell, after Cologne we stayed in Amsterdam for a whole week. We were pampered by Than’s aunt, who practically fed us to death! YUMMY FOOD! We took it easy there since we were basically travelled-out (i.e. didn’t feel like doing anymore sightseeing). It also helps to have hot baths every day. After a week there, we went to Brussels, Belgium for three nights. Contrary to popular…

In and out of Germany

Posted May 18th, 2006 in

Now sitting in an internet place in Cologne, Germany, which really has one of the most badass cathedrals in Europe. Today’s our last day in Deutschland; tomorrow we’re heading to Amsterdam for an extended stay with Than’s aunt. We’re looking forward to resting and being fed well for sure.

I have to say, it’s hard being in Europe and not becoming really interested in football (i.e. soccer). It seems like it’s the only sport that exists over here. All the sports stores have huge football sections. I guess since Germany is hosting the World Cup it’s a bit more exaggerated than…
